Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University is also known by the name GGSIPU, IP and IPU. Formerly, it went by the name of Indraprastha University and it is a public state university situated in New Delhi, Delhi.

Established in 1998, it has become one of the sharpest teach-cum-affiliating universities. The motto of this university in Sanskrit is “ज्योतिर्वृणीत तमसो विजानन”, and it English, it stands as, “Light of Intellect Cleaves the Darkness”.

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University is a public university and Mr. Anil Baijal is the Chancellor of it. Mr. Anil Kumar Tyagi is the vice-chancellor of this institution. Situated in Dwarka, Delhi, the university campus is urban in nature.

The Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University is a member of Association of Commonwealth Universities, Medical Council of India, Distance Education Council and Association of Indian Universities. Apart from the traditional mode of education, the university also offers distance mode of education.

The university ranks 74^th among all of the Indian Universities, according to NIRF and the school of Engineering and Technology was ranked 85^th. The school of Management studies was ranked 51^st as well, according to NIRF.
