Global Open University is a Nagaland State Government Legislated University located in Nagaland. It was established in 2006 and its chancellor is Honourable Governor of Nagaland, Dr. Motsuo Nguille. The president of its sponsoring body is Dr. P. R. Trivedi. Its director is M. Y. Nguille and it is a permanent without pay post.

The university stands out of the rest with the motto, ‘Equiping life teaching professional and vocational courses’ and this university has high quality academic staffs and they are also needed to be recommended by the University Grants Commission, Board of Distance Education and other Apex body as well.
